What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a cutting-edge wellness treatment that harnesses the power of pressurized oxygen to promote deep healing at the cellular level. As Dr. Paul G. Harch, a renowned hyperbaric physician, states:
“When oxygen is under pressure, it has drug-like effects on the DNA and other components of each cell, bringing about permanent changes in the cell and surrounding tissue. In this way, HBOT is one of the most effective gene therapies. Its success lies in its cumulative effect—after 25-40 treatments, the body’s tissues can be permanently transformed.”

What to Expect During a Session
At Holistic Alaska, we follow the Israeli Protocol by Dr. Shai Efrati, a leading expert in hyperbaric medicine. His research has demonstrated that HBOT can enhance neuroplasticity and improve cognitive function, even years after a stroke or brain injury.
Your HBOT Session (80 Minutes Total):
⏳ Descent (First 10 Minutes):
- The chamber will gradually pressurize, similar to an airplane takeoff
- Mild ear discomfort can be relieved by swallowing or moving your jaw
🌬️ Oxygen Therapy Intervals:
- At 1.3 ATA, you’ll breathe 100% oxygen for 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes without
- At 1.6 ATA, the cycle repeats
- At 2.0 ATA, another oxygen cycle begins, maximizing your body’s stem cell production
🎥 Relax & Enjoy the Experience:
- Watch a movie, read a book, nap, or chat with a friend
- Adjust lighting to bright or soothing starlight
- Use the built-in air conditioner for comfort
🛑 Ending the Session:
- The last 10 minutes are for gradual decompression
- A certified hyperbaric technician will be present at all times
- A call button inside the chamber allows you to end the session early if needed
Many clients notice immediate benefits after their first session, while 20-40 sessions are recommended for lasting results.
